Calling all “I Love Lucy” fans! While you can catch reruns on TV and even stream the show on Hulu, you’re about to see Lucy in a whole new way — in color and on the big screen!

In honor of Lucille Ball’s 108th birthday, “I Love Lucy: A Colorized Celebration” is coming to 600 cineplexes across the country for a one-night-only event this summer.

It will feature five episodes of the classic sitcom, which aired from 1951–1957 and still remains one of the most beloved shows of all time.

“I Love Lucy” starred real-life husband and wife Lucille Ball and Desi Arnez, and each episode featured Lucy getting herself into some pretty interesting situations at work, at home, in the kitchen — you name it.

The following full-length/uncut episodes will be shown during the forthcoming theater event:

“The Million Dollar Idea”

“Lucy Does a TV Commercial”

“Pioneer Women”

“Job Switching”

“Hollywood At Last!”

“Lucy Does a TV Commercial” was ranked by TV Guide as the number two television episode of all time and features Lucy advertising a medicine called “Vitameatavegamin.”

She believes it contains vitamins, meat, vegetables and minerals, but doesn’t know it’s also 23% alcohol!

Another episode on the list, “Job Switching,” features the iconic scene in which Lucy stuffs her mouth with chocolate because the conveyor belt at her candy-boxing job is going too fast.

This episode is one of my personal favorites!

In addition to the five episodes being shown, “Redhead Tales, Colorizing I Love Lucy,” a newly produced and never-before-seen featurette that offers a behind-the-scenes look at the colorization process of the original black-and-white episodes, will also be screened.

Those heading to the theater for the event will also receive an exclusive “I Love Lucy” mini-poster while supplies last.

“Almost everyone has seen and been captivated by ‘I Love Lucy’ — but even the biggest Lucy fan has rarely had an experience like this: Seeing Lucy on the big screen and laughing alongside fellow fans in a movie theater,” Fathom Events CEO Ray Nutt said in a press release.

CBS Home Entertainment and Paramount Home Entertainment will also be releasing Love Lucy: Colorized Collection” on DVD August 13.

The collection will include 16 full-length colorized episodes, including those from the Fathom Events screening.

You can see if the “I Love Lucy” colorized celebration is happening near you by visiting Fathom Events’ website. Tickets first went on sale June 7.

The event itself will take place in more than 600 U.S. movie theaters on Tuesday, August 6 at 7 p.m. local time. The occasion marks the celebration of Ball’s birthday.

Ball died of a ruptured abdominal aortic aneurysm in 1989, more than 30 years after the show ended, at the age of 77.

It’s amazing how all these years later, she’s still such an icon.
