The weather across the state will be dry and fairly calm, making for easy travel and good skiing conditions. Because it is the weekend before Christmas, there will likely be heavy traffic heading to the mountains.

High pressure will be the dominating factor in the weekend forecast, with chilly but above average temperatures and dry conditions.

The main difference per day will be sunny conditions Friday and Saturday, with increasing cloud cover into Sunday. Temperature wise, 20s will be common Friday, and 30s are likely for most ski areas for the weekend.

Looking for fresh powder? Aside from snow-making machines, that won't come until Tuesday of next week. Christmas Day skiing will have a fresh blanket of snow for many resorts and ski areas.
