SOUTHERN COLORADO — The holidays are here and if you are looking to attend some fun events this weekend we've got you covered! The News5 team has come up with a list of events that you should check out in Southern Colorado.
The Royal Gorge Route Railroad Santa Express
What: Experience the train that takes you to meet Santa Claus at the magical North Pole in the Royal Gorge! While waiting to board the train you can get your holiday shopping done in a retail store, complete with unique gifts for the holiday season. As the Santa Express train travels to the North Pole, sing along to a mix of new and old Christmas music playing, while enjoying delicious, locally sourced entrees available on every Santa Express class of service. When the Santa Express Train reaches the North Pole, Santa and his special Elves board the train to pass out a special holiday bell to each ticketed child as he makes his way through the train.
When: Until December 30
Time: There are up to four daily departures: 9:15 a.m., 12:30 p.m., 4:30 p.m. 6 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. The 9:15 a.m. is a breakfast with Santa event.

ElectriCritters at the Pueblo Zoo
What: Enjoy over 250,000 lights and 150 unique lit sculptures throughout the Pueblo Zoo! Event features:

The Nutcracker Ballet Performances
What: Add a little dash of magic to the holiday season with an incredible adventure into a wonderful world of delights. The Oklahoma City Ballet is back for Tchaikovsky’s The Nutcracker as all your favorite characters come to life over Thanksgiving weekend.

Manitou Springs Tree Lightning Ceremony
What: It's the annual Manitou Springs tree lighting at the town clock ceremony. You can enjoy cookies, cider with Santa at the town clock. There will also be carolers from neighborhood churches.
When: Novembers 29

Old Colorado City Christmas Stroll
What: Walk the holiday streets of days gone by following Small Business Saturday with the best Victorian Christmas Celebration from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m Enjoy holiday cheer and treats at many of the shops. Santa's Workshop will be open for business until 8 p.m. for the Stroll and every weekend until Christmas. Don't forget, there will be entertainment strolling the streets too!
