5 Around Town: Spice it up at the Chile and Frijoles Festival or enjoy the airshow

Looking for something to do this weekend? The News5 team has come up with a list of events that you should check out in Southern Colorado.

25th annual Chile & Frijoles Festival
What: The annual Chile & Frijoles Festival returns to Pueblo for its 25th year! The festival celebrates the chile harvest with events, vendors, live music and fun food competitions and averages 140,000 attendees over the three days.
When: Friday, Sept. 20 - Sept. 22.
Where: Union Avenue Historic District in Pueblo
Admission: $5 for a single day admission ticket
$12 for a three-day pass
$30 for ME+three-day pass
Children 12 and under get in for free as well as active duty military with ID

Aspens on the Avenue
What: Celebrate fall and Colorado’s vibrant fall colors with hundreds of artists in Old Colorado City. Aspens on the Avenue is an annual fall art fair featuring painters, glass blowers, metal workers, jewelers, wood-turners, photographers, and more with live demonstrations along the Avenue’s sidewalks.
When: Saturday, Sept. 21
Where: Along West Colorado Avenue, between 23rd and 27th Streets in Old Colorado City.
Time: 10 a.m. - 4 p.m.

Taste of Old Colorado City
What: Celebrate the vibrant food and drink scene of Old Colorado City. Enjoy samples from restaurants, craft brewers and distilleries with live music from local Westside band, Woodshed Red. All proceeds go towards improving Old Colorado City through the Old Colorado City Foundation, whose mission is to raise funds for improvements in Old Colorado City neighborhood.
When: Sunday, Sept. 22
Where: Bancroft Park
Time: 12 p.m. - 4 p.m.
Admission: VIP ticket - $55
General admission - $40
Children's ticket (12 and under) - $10

Pikes Peak Regional Airshow
What: There will be over 40 historical aircrafts will be on display and flying at the 2019 Pikes Peak Regional Airshow. The air show performers will begin at 12 p.m. with the National Anthem & Wings of Blue jumping from the 98 Flight Training Squadron/Texas Raiders B-17
ON STATIC DISPLAY: F-15 Eagle (2), AH-64 Apache, Aero L-39C Albatros (2), T-1A Jayhawk, Beechcraft Model 18 C-45, Beech T-34 Mentor, Cessna L-19 Bird Dog, Cessna A-37 Dragonfly, Grumman HU16 Albatross, Howard DGA-15, Learjet C-21, Lockheed C-130 Hercules, North American T-6G Texan, T-1A Jayhawk (2), UH-60 Blackhawk
Where: Colorado Springs Airport
When: Sept. 21 and 22
Time: Airshow starts at 12 p.m.
Admission: Adults (13 and older) - Online: $22. Day of show: $25
Children (4-12) - Online and day of show: $15
Military (Active duty/retired) - Online: $17. Day of show: $25

The Air Show proceeds will go to three Colorado Springs Museums:
The Ft. Carson 4th Infantry Division Museum
The Peterson Air and Space Museum
The National Museum Of WWII Aviation

Bines & Brews Beer Fest
What: You can enjoy beer, hard cider, moonshine and gin from breweries, a cidery, and distilleries as well as contemporary jazz all afternoon at the Bines & Brews Beer Fest. No one under 21 is allowed
When: Saturday, Sept. 21
Where: Limbach Park in Monument
Time: 1 p.m. - 5p.m.
Admission: $25
Designated driver: $10
