The News5 team has compiled a list of the top events to catch in Southern Colorado this weekend. Keep in mind you should pack an umbrella no matter where you go. 28th Annual Cruise Above the Clouds
What: This is the 28th Annual Cruise Above the Clouds presented by Phil Long Family of Dealerships. Hundreds of Custom and Classic Vehicles descend on Memorial Park in Woodland Park for a fun filled day of automotive excellence, great food and old time rock and roll. The event benefits Teller County Non-Profits. (Note: This year's event differs from past years in that it is only a 1 day event and only in Woodland Park)
When: Saturday, Sept. 7 from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

Colorado Springs Switchbacks
What: The Colorado Springs Switchbacks Football Club hosts the Austin Bold on Saturday night at Weidner Field in eastern Colorado Springs. Children's Hospital Colorado is giving away foam fingers to the first 500 fans in the gates at 5 p.m. It's Hero Night! Come meet your favorite Super Heroes in person and dress up for your chance to win a prize.

Micki Free
What: Grammy Award winner and nominee Micki Free performs for two nights in Colorado Springs. The “mixed-blood Cherokee/Comanche” Native American, adopted by LaNora Parker, the great granddaughter, and Comanche direct descendant of the last great Comanche Chief; Quanah Parker of the most POWERFUL INDIAN Tribe in American History…the Comanche! On Saturday, catch a Blues Rock performance. Sunday is a Native American Flute performance.

Victor Pack Burro Race
What: Experience a day of fast and furious racing that must be seen to be believed. Load up the kids of all ages and come to historic Victor for a day of four-footed races packed with old-time fun. The annual Victor Pack Burro race will kick off at Noon in downtown with racers from across the region competing for cash prizes. The furry four-footeds are historically dubbed the Rocky Mountain Canary for their role in underground mining; the burros were used above ground during the gold rush era for hauling heavy loads, but also underground in the mines for the same tasks. This year enjoy cowboy poetry, tractor-churned ice cream, live music at the Elks and many more events during the day.

Palmer Park Work Day
What: The Guardians of Palmer Park invite you to join us Saturday morning, Sept. 7, to pick up trash and dog waste in the park. If weather permits, we will do some trail maintenance as well. All skill levels & ages welcome. Children 12 and under should bring an adult. Perfect activity for families or groups! Come when you can, stay as long as you want.
