Bear goes for a joyride, crashes car

BOULDER COUNTY — Another reminder to keep your doors locked to keep away thieves, and not all of them are human, as a picture from the Boulder County Sheriff's Office shows.

Thursday night a bear apparently pulled open an unlocked driver's door and climbed in, and the door closed behind it.

The bear tried to claw its way out through all four doors, and in the process seems to have "butt-shifted" the car into neutral. The car rolled backward off the driveway and about 100 feet downhill, hitting a tree and making the car undrivable.

The Sheriff's Office posted a picture on its Facebook page showing the aftermath.

The four-legged thief managed to pop open a door and ran away.
