Today’s Forecast:
Warm and windy today with a steep drop in temperatures late today and tonight after a cold front blows through. A wave of energy will push strong westerly winds in and out of the mountains in the morning before a cold front in the afternoon turns the winds even stronger out of the north. Behind the front, a few showers will be possible in the Sangre De Cristos, Pikes Peak Region, and plains. Dry air is going to make it very difficult for any rain to actually hit the ground. Overnight the winds will die down and temperatures will fall into the freezing range by Saturday morning.

COLORADO SPRINGS: High - 70; Low - 32. Mild and windy through lunch with stronger winds and cooling temps in the afternoon. Isolated showers are possible, especially on the north and east side of town.

PUEBLO: High - 73; Low - 30. Mild and windy through the afternoon with stronger winds at the end of the day and early this evening behind a cold front. Dry skies are expected.

CANON CITY: High - 71; Low - 34. Warm and windy in the afternoon with high fire danger and low humidity.

WOODLAND PARK: High - 55; Low - 28. Chilly and windy today with a few isolated showers possible later this afternoon.

TRI-LAKES: High - 60s; Low - 20s. Cool and windy from the mid morning through the afternoon with scattered showers likely later today.

PLAINS: High - 70s; Low - 30s. High fire danger from strong afternoon and evening winds moving in before scattered showers try and fall by the end of the day.

WALSENBURG/TRINIDAD: High - 60s; Low - 30s. Warm and windy today with westerly winds turning northeast from the morning into the afternoon. Fire danger is on the high end with only a few scattered showers expected out west into the mountains.

Extended Outlook:
Saturday morning is going to be very cold with lows falling into the low 30s and a few 20s by Saturday morning. Sunday, a cold front will push through in the morning, leading to a few flurries out in the mountains of the Front Range and Teller County, but with dry skies for the I-25 corridor. Monday will be cool and windy before a warm up by Tuesday and Wednesday. Snow cahnces will come back by Thursday morning.
