Warming trend to linger through the week

Today’s Forecast:
We're getting our first extended taste of summer this week with big heat settling in through Thursday and Friday. We're going to be sunny and warm today with highs in the lower elevations around the 70s and 80s. Overnight we'll be in the 40s with clear skies and light winds.

COLORADO SPRINGS: High: 77; Low: 48. We're going to be much warmer today with highs in the 70s across Colorado Springs and a light afternoon breeze.

PUEBLO: High: 84; Low: 49. Hot air comes back to Pueblo with strong sunshine and light daytime winds.

CANON CITY: High: 80; Low: 51. We'll be very warm with fairly light winds and sunshine through the daytime.

WOODLAND PARK: High: 69; Low: 41. Incredibly nice weather for Woodland Park today with pleasant temperatures and light winds.

TRI-LAKES: High: 70s; Low: 40s. Very comfortable air in the Tri-Lakes area with light winds and comfortable temps.

PLAINS: High: 80s; Low: 50s. We're going to be very hot across the plains with highs in the 80s for most of the region along with strong sunshine and light winds.

WALSENBURG/TRINIDAD: High: 70s; Low: 40s. Breezy at times with hot daytime temperatures and full sunshine.

Extended Outlook:
The rest of the week looks warm to just plain hot. Weak cold fronts on Tuesday and Wednesday will push temperatures back a couple degrees but we'll stay dry. The biggest heat of the week comes Thursday and Friday with lower elevation high temps in the 80s and 90s. The weekend will continue to be warm but with a few storm chances on both Saturday and Sunday.
