Today’s Forecast:
The big weather story today is isolated thunderstorms across the Pikes Peak Region and northern plains with high fire danger from Pueblo south and east through the lower plains. The winds will get stronger as the humidity drops this afternoon, prompting Red Flag Warnings and elevating fire conditions. Isolated and scattered showers are possible in Teller and Northern El Paso County, but they're more likely out east towards Limon.

COLORADO SPRINGS: High: 58; Low: 33. Increasing clouds and wind through the afternoon with a small chance for isolated thunderstorms on the north side of town.

PUEBLO: High: 69; Low: 36. Mostly sunny and very windy today with warm daytime temperatures and high fire danger.

CANON CITY: High: 66; Low: 40. Mostly sunny and windy today with elevated fire danger and dry skies.

WOODLAND PARK: High: 49; Low: 26. Increasing clouds and isolated showers to thunderstorms are possible in the afternoon, although very dry air might mean we just see gusty winds and not rain make it to the ground.

TRI-LAKES: High: 50s; Low: 20s. Windy with increasing clouds and the chance for scattered showers or thunderstorms in the mid to late afternoon. Very dry air will make it tough for much if any rain to make it to the ground, so gusty winds and maybe dry lightning are a bit more likely through the end of the day.

PLAINS: High: 60/70s; Low: 30s. Mostly sunny, very windy, warm, and high fire danger is the big story for the plains. Strong afternoon winds and low humidity could lead to a quick spreading grass fire in the afternoon,.

WALSENBURG/TRINIDAD: High: 60s; Low: 30s. Mostly sunny with afternoon clouds, stronger daytime winds, and high fire danger into the early evening hours.

Extended Outlook:
We'll have more wind and continued high fire danger through the rest of the week. Winds will get much stronger by Thursday and Friday, but it will bring warmer temperatures. There is a snow chance on Friday and Saturday, but we need more time to analyze that storm.
