Today’s Forecast:
The forecast today involves gorgeous afternoon weather, but at the price of high fire danger. Red Flag warnings are in effect across the region this afternoon due to strong, gusty winds and very low humidity. Temperatures will be in the 70s and 80s across the lower elevations. Overnight we'll keep clear skies with light winds and cool temperatures.

PUEBLO: High: 80; Low: 38. High fire danger with sunny skies, strong afternoon winds, low humidity, and hot daytime temps.

CANON CITY: High: 77; Low: 43. High fire danger with sunny skies, strong afternoon winds, low humidity, and hot daytime temps.

WOODLAND PARK: High: 61; Low: 34. Elevated fire danger with mostly sunny skies, pleasant temps, and gusty afternoon winds.

TRI-LAKES: High: 60s; Low: 30s. Mostly sunny skies with some gusty wind and low humidity and pleasant daytime temperatures.

PLAINS: High: 80s; Low: 30s. High fire danger with sunny skies, strong afternoon winds, low humidity, and hot daytime temps.

WALSENBURG/TRINIDAD: High: 70s; Low: 40s. Windy and sunny today with high fire danger and very warm daytime temperatures.

Extended Outlook:
Very warm weather is expected again tomorrow, and we're very likely to see more high fire danger. Wednesday will be a bit cooler with heavier cloud cover through the afternoon and evening. A large low pressure system off the Pacific coast could lead to rain and snow by Thursday and Friday, with more jet stream energy to bring rain and snow over the weekend. The forecast at the end of the week is very unsettled, and we could very well drop our rain/snow chances and be dry as we analyze more model data.
