Today’s Forecast:
Storms and HEAT are the two main talking points for weather today. We're going to quickly get very hot across southern Colorado with highs into the 90s and triple digits across the region. We'll see storms develop first in the mountains in the early afternoon and spread east, growing stronger through the rest of the day. We'll be dry but still pretty warm overnight.

COLORADO SPRINGS: High: 95; Low: 62. Hot today with pulse strong to severe storms in the mid-afternoon. Pulse strong to severe storms means storms could go severe, dropping 1 to 1.5" hail and 65 mph winds for 20 to 30 mins before they weaken and move east.

PUEBLO: High: 102; Low: 64. Very hot today with pulse strong to severe storms in the mid-afternoon. Pulse strong to severe storms means storms could go severe, dropping 1 to 1.5" hail and 65 mph winds for 20 to 30 mins before they weaken and move east.

CANON CITY: High: 99; Low: 66. Very hot with pulse strong storms possible today, but severe weather chances are on the lower end. Any strong storm today could still have heavy rain, lightning, and pea to marble size hail.

WOODLAND PARK: High: 84; Low: 55. Very warm with thunderstorms likely through the afternoon. Storms should not be severe today but there could be brief heavy rain, lightning, and even small hail.

TRI-LAKES: High: 80s; Low: 50s. Hot today with strong to possibly severe storms in the early to mid-afternoon. If we do see strong storms, quarter-sized hail and 60 mph wind gusts are possible with plenty of lightning.

PLAINS: High: 100s; Low: 60s. Incredibly hot today with a very good chance for strong to severe thunderstorms from the mid-afternoon to the end of the day. Severe threats today include 70 mph wind gusts, 2 inch sized hail, and isolated tornadoes mainly north of Kiowa County.

WALSENBURG/TRINIDAD: High: 90s; Low: 60s. Very hot with scattered strong thunderstorms in the afternoon but severe weather chances are on the low end. Gusty winds, lightning, and small hail is still possible.

Extended Outlook:
We're going to push temperatures down a bit from Tuesday into Wednesday, with Wednesday in particular feeling great with highs in the mid 80s and lower 90s. We'll keep storm chances every day this week, with Tuesday as probably the next best day for strong to severe storms.s
