Today’s Forecast:

We're looking at a HOT day across southern Colorado, with a chance for isolated and spotty storms over the mountains. Temperatures under the sun will crank into the 90s through the afternoon, with one or two spots like Pueblo and La Junta possibly hitting 100 degrees! Spotty storms over the mountains won't have much moisture to work with, but we could still see something travel south from Teller through Fremont and Custer Counties.

The biggest challenge today is will we get any storms in the eastern plains? Upslope flow theoretically could help spark an isolated storm anywhere of I-25, and while a storm could be strong and push out big winds, we're not expecting severe weather, and storm chances east of I-25 remain low.

COLORADO SPRINGS: High: 94; Low: 62. Hot and likely dry across the city today with smoke thicker and more visible in and around the mountains west of town.

PUEBLO: High: 100; Low: 62. Very hot and likely dry today with some gusty winds possible at the end of the day and smoke thicker to the mountains out west.

CANON CITY: High: 96; Low: 65. Very hot and dry, although a few isolated storms will likely try and move through Fremont County at the end of the day west of the city.

WOODLAND PARK: High: 84; Low: 53. Warm and likely pretty dry, but at the end of the day through the early evening an isolated shower or thunderstorm is possible with gusty winds and lightning as the main storm threat.

TRI-LAKES: High: 80s; Low: 50s. We'll stay hot and probably dry today even with a small chance for an isolated storm to develop over the Palmer Divide. Smoke will be thickest mid-morning and again this evening.

PLAINS: High: 90s; Low: 60s. Very hot and dry with mostly sunny skies today. There is a small chance easterly upslope winds could spark an isolated thunderstorm with very strong winds, and a small severe chance near Kiowa county, but our chances of staying dry are much higher today.

WALSENBURG/TRINIDAD: High: 90s; Low: 60s. Hot and dry with mostly sunny skies

Extended Outlook:
Storm chances are better in the afternoon on Wednesday and Thursday. We'll likely be dry on Friday, and we'll keep hot and dry conditions through the weekend.
