What a difference a cold front makes as we saw highs today 50 to 60 degrees cooler than yesterday. With wind chills 70 to 75 degrees colder. Roads have been slick and icy over the area and once the water on the roads freezes tonight it will be very dangerous to travel. Be extra careful on bridges and overpasses.

Record lows tonight with a freeze warning active for most of the viewing area. Here's a look at the weather in your area heading into Thursday night to Friday afternoon.

COLORADO SPRINGS: Low - 10; High - 47. A Freeze Warning is in effect until Friday morning. We're not expecting any additional snow overnight, yet watch for road conditions.

PUEBLO: Low - 10; High - 53. A Freeze Warning is in effect until Friday morning. We're not expecting any additional snow overnight, yet watch for road conditions.

CANON CITY: Low - 13; High - 53. Clear skies overnight following a day of blowing snow.

WOODLAND PARK: Low - 3; High - 40. Snow showers wrap up late in the afternoon with below freezing temperatures continuing overnight.

TRI-LAKES: Low - 13; High - 45. Bitter cold hangs around the Tri-Lakes region overnight, if you travel between Colorado Springs and Denver, be aware of possible hazardous road conditions in the morning.

PLAINS: Low - 21; High - 57. Enjoy a mostly clear evening out on the plains with temperatures dipping near 20 overnight ahead of a Friday full of sunshine.

WALSENBURG/TRINIDAD: Low - 29; High - 57. A Freeze Warning is in effect until 9 am Friday before things warm back up.

Extended Outlook:
The Freeze Warning goes into effect at 6 pm, and will continue through 9 am Friday. Morning temperatures on Friday will start in the teens and single digits across Southern Colorado. Once the Freeze Warning expires, temperatures will moderate from today under sunny skies. Another cold night follows Friday night, with a warming trend for the weekend. Daytime highs by Sunday will return to the 60s and 70s, with an even warmer day next Monday. Beyond today's storm, I'm not really seeing much moisture in our forecast for the next 7 days.
