Snow ends but the cold is here to stay

Today’s Forecast:
Overnight snowfall continues to stop through the early morning hours, but the cold air isn't going anywhere. The heaviest morning snow will be out west in the Wet and Sangre Mountains, as well as the Wet Mountain Valley. We should be dry across the whole region by 8 to 10 am, with sunshine returning by and after lunch. Brutal cold air will stick around through the afternoon, but especially overnight with lows dropping into the single digits.

COLORADO SPRINGS: High: 18; Low: 2. Cloudy and very cold through the morning with lighter winds and sunshine through the afternoon. Dangerously cold air arrives tonight.

PUEBLO: High: 22; Low: 0. Cloudy and very cold with light snow ending by sunrise with lighter winds and sunshine through the afternoon. Dangerously cold air arrives tonight.

CANON CITY: High: 23; Low: 5. Cloudy and very cold with a few flurries around sunrise, followed by lighter winds and sunshine through the afternoon. Dangerously cold air arrives tonight.

WOODLAND PARK: High: 16; Low: -2. Cloudy and very cold through the morning with lighter winds and sunshine through the afternoon. Dangerously cold air arrives tonight.

TRI-LAKES: High: 10s; Low: Below 0. Cloudy and very cold through the morning with lighter winds and sunshine through the afternoon. Dangerously cold air arrives tonight.

PLAINS: High: 20s; Low: >10. Cloudy and very cold with a few flurries around sunrise, followed by lighter winds and sunshine through the afternoon. Dangerously cold air arrives tonight.

WALSENBURG/TRINIDAD: High: 10s; Low: >10. Cloudy and very cold with a few flurries around sunrise, especially from Walsenburg west to La Veta, followed by lighter winds and sunshine through the afternoon. Dangerously cold air arrives tonight.

Extended Outlook:
There is no snow in the extended forecast! The big story going forward will be very cold overnight temperatures and a better warm up into the weekend. Highs on Sunday and Monday will be in the 50s with sunshine.
