Snow last night fell on top of warm roads and left a layer of ice underneath the fresh powder.
We are going to stay dry today but cold with fresh snow and thick cloud cover. The winds will be fairly light, and we'll get even colder tonight with lows dropping into the single digits.
COLORADO SPRINGS: High: 27; Low: 8. A layer of ice and snow lies on pretty much every road in the Colorado Springs/Pikes Peak area today, so be extra careful if you need to drive to work. We'll be cloudy and cold today with light winds through the afternoon.
PUEBLO: High: 29; Low: 6. Ice and snow-covered roads will lead to slick commutes in and out of Pueblo this morning with cloudy, cold, and calm conditions through the afternoon.
CANON CITY: High: 35; Low: 15. Areas of ice and snow on the roads this morning will lead to slow and slick morning drives with a dry, cloudy, and cold afternoon.
WOODLAND PARK: High: 26; Low: 9. Slick and icy with snow-covered roads this morning but we'll stay dry and cold through the rest of the day.
TRI-LAKES: High: 20s; Low: <10. Heavy snow last night fell on a layer of ice and left very slick and dangerous roads through the Tri-Lakes region. We'll stay dry today but cold under a layer of clouds with light winds.
PLAINS: High: 20s; Low: <10. Cold and cloudy today with only a few slick roadways west near the I-25 corridor.
WALSENBURG/TRINIDAD: High: 20s; Low: 10s. Slow and slick roadways to contend with this morning from snow and ice overnight. We'll be dry today but cold under cloudy skies.
MOUNTAINS: High: 30s; Low: 10s. Slick roads from overnight snow with cloudy, cold, and slightly breezy daytime conditions.
Clearing clouds will allow for a very cold night tonight, and we could see wet areas refreeze through Friday morning. We'll be warmer and dry Friday with a chance for light snow Saturday night. The next best chance for snow comes next Wednesday.
