Dry skies in the morning followed by building clouds and rain through the afternoon. We'll see snow mixed in at times today and tonight over the mountain towns, but all of the lower elevations will just see rain later today and tonight. There will be some lightning and thunder across the I-25 corridor and plains, but all storms are expected to remain non severe today.

COLORADO SPRINGS: High: 63; Low: 38. Dry in the morning with a cloudy afternoon followed by rain and a few isolated thunderstorms into the evening hours. There could be some overnight rain mixed with snow, but no real snow accumulation.

PUEBLO: High: 69; Low: 43. Dry and sunny in the morning with clouds and scattered thunderstorms in the afternoon and early evening. There could be isolated showers overnight.

CANON CITY: High: 67; Low: 3041. Dry in the morning followed by clouds and thunderstorms in the afternoon and evening. There will likely be scattered showers mixed in with a few flakes through the overnight hours.

TRI-LAKES: High: 50s; Low: 30s. Dry in the morning with clouds back into the afternoon followed by rain and a few flakes from the end of the day through the overnight hours. Any snow that falls with the rain overnight likely will not collect on pavement.

PLAINS: High: 60/70s; Low: 40s. Rain and thunderstorms are possible in the afternoon, especially for areas closer to I-25. Storms today and any rain this evening will stay non severe.

WALSENBURG/TRINIDAD: High: 60s; Low: 30s. Dry in the morning with breezy and scattered showers/thunderstorms through the afternoon. An isolated shower is possible overnight but it's more likely we'll stay dry in the area.

Extended Outlook:
A stronger system is expected on Tuesday which could bring heavier rain and thunderstorms, especially to the eastern plains. We could see an isolated severe storm in Baca county Tuesday afternoon, with a few inches in and around the mountains. Wednesday looks dry before more afternoon thunderstorms move back in by Thursday and Friday.
