Today’s Forecast:
A cold front overnight pushed strong and gusty winds across southern Colorado early this morning, and cooler air will follow into the afternoon. The winds will be stronger through the morning but it will still be gusty into the afternoon and early evening. Temperatures will be cooler than Tuesday, but still nice and summer-like with highs mostly in the 80s east of the mountains and 70s into the higher terrain. We should stay dry across the forecast area today, despite a few rogue thunderstorms trying to develop out west of our mountains later this afternoon. Tonight we'll be dry and warm with light winds.

COLORADO SPRINGS: High - 81; Low - 58. Mostly sunny, windy and warm through the afternoon with dry skies through the evening.

PUEBLO: High - 87; Low - 60. Sunny, windy and hot this afternoon with dry skies through the evening.

CANON CITY: High - 86; Low - 62. Mostly sunny, breezy and warm through the afternoon with dry skies through the evening.

WOODLAND PARK: High - 76; Low - 50. Sunny in the morning with scattered clouds in the afternoon. Dry skies are likely despite the fact that a few thunderstorms may try and develop in the mountains out west of Woodland Park.

TRI-LAKES: High - 70s; Low - 50s. Mostly sunny, breezy and warm through the afternoon with dry skies through the evening.

PLAINS: High - 80s; Low - 60s. Sunny, windy and hot this afternoon with dry skies through the evening.

WALSENBURG/TRINIDAD: High - 80s; Low - 50s. Sunny, windy and hot this afternoon with dry skies through the evening.

Extended Outlook:
Hot air become more widespread on Thursday, and then won't leave through early next week. Highs tomorrow will be in the upper 80s for Colorado Springs and mid 90s in Pueblo. A few isolated mountain thunderstorms are possible on Thursday, but more scattered storm action seems to be leaning towards Friday. The weekend looks wet and stormy with daily afternoon thunderstorms from Saturday into early next week, some of which could be on the stronger side.
