The forecast today looks HOT... and that's about all there is to say! Sunny skies and dry air will work together to propel temperatures well into the 90s, if not warmer, by noon. Highs will peak into the triple digits across the eastern plains and we'll see upper 90s through Colorado Springs. The winds will be gusty at times with dry skies through the afternoon and overnight hours. Tonight will be breezy and warm with lows into the lower 60s by Friday morning.

TRI-LAKES: High - 80s; Low - 50s. Hot, sunny and dry with breezy winds through the afternoon.
PLAINS: High - 100s; Low - 60s. Very hot, sunny and dry with light winds through the afternoon.
WALSENBURG/TRINIDAD: High - 90/100s; Low - 60s. Very hot, sunny and dry with breezy winds through the afternoon.
Extended Outlook:
Near record temperatures will be back across southern Colorado Friday with more dry skies and punishing sunshine. Cooler weather arrives on Saturday with scattered showers and thunderstorms starting over the mountains and pushing east into the plains. Better storm chances arrive by Sunday and Monday, with temperatures back into the 80s across the eastern plains. We'll keep monsoonal storms around through Tuesday with drier weather trying to push back into the region by Wednesday.
