Today’s Forecast:
If you like the heat, we've got A LOT of it today! A heat ridge is still centered over Colorado, and while it's moving east, we'll have temperature readings back in the 80s and 90s. There will be more sunshine today, so you'll feel the heat more than you did yesterday. Fire danger is elevated through the region but the highest fire danger is in the San Luis Valley with Red Flag Warnings expiring early this evening.

COLORADO SPRINGS: High: 84; Low: 51. Hot again today with more sunshine compared to yesterday and high temperatures likely about a degree short of tying a new record.

PUEBLO: High: 92; Low: 55. Very hot and breezy through the afternoon with sunnier skies and high temperatures about 2 degree shy of tying a record.

CANON CITY: High: 89; Low: 57. Very hot and breezy through the afternoon with dry skies and sunnier conditions compared to Thursday.

WOODLAND PARK: High: 74; Low: 42. Beautiful and warm through the afternoon with sunny skies and building clouds in the afternoon.

TRI-LAKES: High: 70s; Low: 40s. Very nice but hot today under sunny skies and building afternoon clouds.

PLAINS: High: 90s; Low: 50s. Very hot today with sunny skies and breezy afternoon conditions. Fire conditions remain elevated through the region.

WALSENBURG/TRINIDAD: High: 80s; Low: 50s. Hot again today and breezy with sunnier skies compared to Thursday.

Extended Outlook:
A strong cold front will push through overnight and drop temperatures into the 70s Saturday. We have a chance for strong to severe thunderstorms late in the day, but mostly through the evening hours for places along and east of I-25. Severe threats tomorrow evening include quarter size hail, lighting, and strong gusty winds. Sunday looks warmer and dry with fairly mild weather next week.
