If you like the heat, we've got A LOT of it today! A heat ridge is still centered over Colorado, and while it's moving east, we'll have temperature readings back in the 80s and 90s. There will be more sunshine today, so you'll feel the heat more than you did yesterday. Fire danger is elevated through the region but the highest fire danger is in the San Luis Valley with Red Flag Warnings expiring early this evening.
Strong to severe storms are possible tomorrow, mainly in the evening. Storm development in and around the Palmer Divide that then travel southeast seems most likely, meaning storms are most likely EAST of both Colorado Springs and Pueblo. Both cities still have a chance. pic.twitter.com/CKw3Eks0CJ— Sam Schreier (@SamASchreier) May 1, 2020

A strong cold front will push through overnight and drop temperatures into the 70s Saturday. We have a chance for strong to severe thunderstorms late in the day, but mostly through the evening hours for places along and east of I-25. Severe threats tomorrow evening include quarter size hail, lighting, and strong gusty winds. Sunday looks warmer and dry with fairly mild weather next week.
