Today’s Forecast:
Very hot again this afternoon with showers and thunderstorms forming over the mountains, then pushing east into the I-25 corridor and plains to give us a little relief from the heat. Sunny skies and a dry morning will allow for a very rapid warm up into lunch with most areas east of the mountains in the 90s by noon. Pueblo and areas east along highway 50 and the surrounding plains will hit triple digits today, with only a little relief by the end of the afternoon as clouds move in. Storms over the mountains will slowly push east into the I-25 corridor and slowly fade to the east through the evening. Severe weather is not expected but there will likely be a few strong storms like we saw on Monday.

Extended Outlook: Other than a couple isolated storms over the mountains on Wednesday, we're heading into a hot and dry stretch of days. Even over the mountains tomorrow rain will be sparse and not long lasting. Heat is the big story through the extended with punishing daytime temperatures from Wednesday through Saturday. Colorado Springs will run into the mid to upper 90s through Saturday while Pueblo stays in the triple digits. Rain chances and cooler air both arrive by Sunday and Monday.
