It's going to be another HOT day across southern Colorado with most areas in the lower elevations hitting the 90s with a stray triple-digit reading possible. There will be spotty thunderstorms that develop in and around the mountains today, only to push east into the plains through the afternoon. Most of us will likely stay dry with elevated fire conditions.
COLORADO SPRINGS: High: 93; Low: 58. Hot and breezy with spotty, early afternoon thunderstorms possible.
PUEBLO: High: 99; Low: 59. Very hot and breezy with a small chance for spotty and weak afternoon thunderstorms.
CANON CITY: High: 97; Low: 63. Hot and breezy with spotty, early afternoon thunderstorms possible.
WOODLAND PARK: High: 84; Low: 52. Isolated weak thunderstorms are possible around and after lunchtime with warm and breezy daytime conditions.
TRI-LAKES: High: 80s; Low: 50s. Warm and windy at times with a small chance for weak, isolated early afternoon thunderstorms.
PLAINS: High: 90s; Low: 60s. Very hot with mid to late day showers and thunderstorms possible, especially for counties along the Kansas border.
WALSENBURG/TRINIDAD: High: 90s; Low: 60s. Hot and windy today with high fire danger and a small chance for an isolated thunderstorm.
Extended Outlook:
Tomorrow is going to be even hotter than today with a very high risk for fire danger, mainly in and around the southern mountains. We'll see a lot more heat through the week with lower elevation high temperatures in the 90s and lower triple digits. The next small chance for rain comes Sunday and Monday.
