Today’s Forecast:
We're going back to a hotter weather pattern with only a few storms in the region today. It started out very muggy in El Paso and Pueblo county, but especially east out in the plains. We'll keep some of the moisture farther east in the plains, but most of us will get dry air mixed into the region which will allow that heat to come quickly in the afternoon.

COLORADO SPRINGS: High: 89; Low: 58. A mix of sun and clouds today with hot and drier afternoon air along with strong and gusty winds.

PUEBLO: High: 96; Low: 61. A bit muggy in the morning with better late morning and early afternoon sunshine, along with a stronger afternoon breeze.

CANON CITY: High: 92; Low: 61. A dry and sunnier early afternoon with lots of heat and gusty afternoon winds.

WOODLAND PARK: High: 82; Low: 52. A mix of sun and clouds today with warm and dry afternoon air along with strong and gusty winds.

TRI-LAKES: High: 80s; Low: 50s. A mix of sun and clouds today with warmer and drier afternoon air along with strong and gusty winds.

PLAINS: High: 90s; Low: 60s. Muggy in the morning particularly along and north of Highway 50 with drier air in the afternoon. Spotty thunderstorms are likely along and south of highway 50 in the afternoon.

WALSENBURG/TRINIDAD: High: 80/90s; Low: 50s. Mostly dry and windy today with a few stray showers that try to form over the mountains west of the area, but storms in general are a lot more likely east in Las Animas County.

Extended Outlook:
Storms are more widespread on Friday starting over the mountains and moving east into the plains. We'll see heavier and slower-moving storms on Saturday, most of which will be in the afternoon and evening hours. This could disrupt outdoor plains due to flooding concerns and longer duration heavy rains. Storms are scattered back in the afternoon on Sunday with spottier and fewer storms on Monday.
