Today’s Forecast:
We're going to be hot out there today with weaker and spottier storms in the afternoon and early evening. Storm chances today are best over the mountains and the surrounding mountain towns, with very little action expected east of I-25. Storms should stay non-severe today with pretty rough heat expected out east across the plains.
COLORADO SPRINGS: High: 88; Low: 56. Hot with scattered daytime thunderstorms. Storms should be non-severe but lightning and small hail are possible.
PUEBLO: High: 94; Low: 57. Very hot and while isolated and spotty storms are possible in the afternoon and early evening, it's more likely Pueblo will stay dry today.
CANON CITY: High: 91; Low: 59. Hot with spotty daytime thunderstorms possible, but chances remain on the lower end. Lightning and small hail could fall in storms today.
WOODLAND PARK: High: 77; Low: 49. Warm with scattered daytime thunderstorms. Storms should be non-severe but lightning and small hail could happen.
TRI-LAKES: High: 80s; Low: 50s. Very warm with a chance for spotty daytime thunderstorms. Any storms today would stay non-severe but lightning and small hail could fall.
PLAINS: High: 90s; Low: 60s. Very hot today with low chances for rain across the plains. Any isolated thunderstorms could probably happen in the evening along the Raton Mesa from Las Animas to Baca counties.
WALSENBURG/TRINIDAD: High: 80s; Low: 50s. Spotty thunderstorms could wander through Walsenburg and Trinidad later today but the more likely placement for storms will stay out west into the mountains.
Extended Outlook:
Thursday looks very similar today but with more heat and spotty storms staying primarily out in the mountains. A cold front Thursday night will bring a better chance for strong to severe storms into the I-25 corridor and plains Friday afternoon. We'll heat back up over the weekend with daytime storm chances remaining spotty.
