Today’s Forecast:
The big weather story today is the heat and thunderstorm potential. Storms during the daytime will be most likely over the mountains, but this evening, we could see more through the plains and I-25 corridor. Slow moving storms could lead to localized flooding over the mountains, but also in any areas that saw heavy rain this weekend.

COLORADO SPRINGS: High: 87; Low: 57. Hot and a bit muggy today with an isolated daytime thunderstorm possible, but storms are more likely this evening with lightning, heavy rain, and localized flooding as the main concerns.

PUEBLO: High: 94; Low: 59. Very hot and a bit muggy today with mostly dry skies expected in the afternoon but isolated and scattered storms possible this evening.

CANON CITY: High: 90; Low: 60. Hot and a bit muggy today with an isolated daytime thunderstorm possible, but storms are more likely this evening with lightning, heavy rain, and localized flooding as the main concerns.

WOODLAND PARK: High: 77; Low: 49. Warm with scattered daytime and evening thunderstorms, most of which would be slow moving and could drop heavy rain, leading to localized flooding concerns.

TRI-LAKES: High: 80s; Low: 50s. Isolated daytime thunderstorms are possible with warm temperatures, but evening rain seems more likely with heavy rain, lighting, and localized flooding as the main threats.

PLAINS: High: 90s; Low: 60s. Very hot today with highs in the mid to upper 90s and isolated storms that could develop this evening with lightning and spotty downpours.

WALSENBURG/TRINIDAD: High: 80s; Low: 50s. Hot today with any daytime rain most likely out west of I-25 into the mountains. Storms could develop this evening with spotty heavy rain and lightning.

Extended Outlook:
We're going to keep storm chances for most of the region all the way out into Friday. Highs will stay in the 80s and 90s this week, with storms most likely in the afternoon and evening. Storms could be strong at times this week, with the next likely severe day happening Wednesday across the eastern plains.
