Today’s Forecast:
Hot this afternoon with thunderstorms hopping out of the mountains later today and moving east into the plains this evening. Storms will start over the mountains in the mid afternoon, grow stronger and then push east into the interstate and plains through the overnight hours. Heavy rain, lightning and small hail are the primary threats from storms today. Any leftover storms tonight should dry up across the eastern plains around midnight and leave us with a dry and calm morning for Tuesday.

COLORADO SPRINGS: High - 89; Low - 60. Hot through the early afternoon with thunderstorms from the end of the day to the early evening. Heavy rain, lightning and small hail are the main threats from storms.

PUEBLO: High - 97; Low - 62. Very hot through the afternoon with thunderstorms from the end of the day through the evening. Heavy rain, lightning and small hail are the main threats from storms.

CANON CITY: High - 95; Low - 65. Hot through the early afternoon with thunderstorms from the end of the day to the early evening. Heavy rain, lightning and small hail are the main threats from storms.

WOODLAND PARK: High - 82; Low - 53. Sunny and warm in the morning with clouds and storms in the afternoon. Storms should stay non severe but a few of them could produce heavy rain and lightning.

TRI-LAKES: High - 80s; Low - 50s. Warm through the early afternoon with thunderstorms from the end of the day to the early evening. Heavy rain, lightning and small hail are the main threats from storms.

PLAINS: High - 90s; Low - 60s. Very hot through the afternoon with thunderstorms from the end of the day through the evening. Heavy rain, lightning and small hail are the main threats from storms.

WALSENBURG/TRINIDAD: High - 80s/90s; Low - 50s. Hot through the early afternoon with thunderstorms from the end of the day to the early evening. Heavy rain, lightning and small hail are the main threats from storms.

Extended Outlook: A few more thudnerstorms are possible on Tuesday, although they will be mostly confined to and just east of the mountains in the mid to late afternoon. Dry but hot weather takes over by Wednesday with widespread 90s and 100s through the end of the week. Our fuels will begin to dry out rapidly from Wednesday to Friday, meaning fire danger will be on the rise. Be sure to hydrate and wear sunscreen when you're out at the pool this week.
