Today’s Forecast:
Hot air takes over the forecast today with only a few thunderstorms making it out of the mountains through the afternoon. Storm chances over the plains east of I-25 are actually better than they are in the I-25 corridor, since there is more moisture out east. Any storms that do develop through the afternoon will dry out quickly this evening with a very warm night on tap into early Thursday morning.

COLORADO SPRINGS: High - 95; Low - 62. Hot through the early afternoon with isolated thunderstorms through the end of the day. Gusty winds and lightning are the main threats from storms.

PUEBLO: High - 102; Low - 63. Very hot through the afternoon with a very small chance for storms in the afternoon. If storms do form, gusty winds and lightning are the main threats.

CANON CITY: High - 100; Low - 65. Very hot through the early afternoon with with isolated thunderstorms through the end of the day. Gusty winds and lightning are the main threats from storms.

WOODLAND PARK: High - 85; Low - 54. Warm through the early afternoon with isolated thunderstorms through the end of the day. Gusty winds and lightning are the main threats from storms.

TRI-LAKES: High - 80s; Low - 50s. Hot through the early afternoon with isolated thunderstorms through the end of the day. Gusty winds and lightning are the main threats from storms.

PLAINS: High - 90/100s; Low - 60s. Very hot through the afternoon with scattered thunderstorms into the early evening. Heavy rain, lightning and strong to gusty winds are the main threats from storms.

WALSENBURG/TRINIDAD: High - 90s; Low - 60s. Hot through the early afternoon with isolated thunderstorms through the end of the day. Gusty winds and lightning are the main threats from storms.

Extended Outlook:
Hot, dry and sunny air moves back into the forecast from Thursday and Friday. Highs will be in the upper 90s and triple digits across the lower elevations, and mid to upper 80s through the mountains. Storm chances become a bit more isolated against the mountains on Saturday. The next best chance for rain and thunderstorms comes on Sunday and Monday with monsoonal moisture keeping storm chances out through Tuesday and Wednesday of next week.
