Hot and windy across the forecast region today with wind gusts in the afternoon blowing between 15 to 25 mph, maybe a bit more in a few areas. There could be a few scattered storms in Baca and Prowers counties in the afternoon, with more isolated showers across the south half of the viewing area tonight after midnight.
COLORADO SPRINGS: High - 85; Low - 54. Sunny and warm with stronger winds in the afternoon.
PUEBLO: High - 91; Low - 58. Sunny and hot with gustier winds through the afternoon. A few showers are possible around 3 to 4 am tonight.
CANON CITY: High - 89; Low - 60. Sunny and hot with gusty winds through the afternoon.
WOODLAND PARK: High - 75; Low - 48. Sunny and nice with gusty winds in the afternoon.
TRI-LAKES: High - 70s; Low - 40/50s. Sunny and mild with stronger winds in the afternoon.
PLAINS: High - 90s; Low - 60s. Sunny and hot with a few afternoon scattered thunderstorms possible in Baca and Prowers County. Overnight after 2 am a few showers may wander through Baca County.
WALSENBURG/TRINIDAD: High - 80s; Low - 50s. Sunny and warm with stronger winds in the afternoon. Showers are possible tonight between 2 to 4 am.
Extended Outlook:
Cloud cover Friday morning will disappear and be replaced with sunshine for most of the day. We'll see very strong winds coming into the forecast area Friday afternoon with gusts blowing between 30 to 40 mph. Temperatures will fall into the 70s and 80s on Saturday with a few storms possible near the Palmer Divide Saturday afternoon. Sunday looks dry, and we're still seeing if a dying Pacific Hurricane could bring us rain by next Monday.
