Today’s Forecast:
Independence day is here, and the forecast couldn't be better! We are going to stay hot and dry through the afternoon with just a couple stray thunderstorms trying to pop up in the afternoon. Highs will be in the 80s in the mountains, 90s along most of I-25, and right near the triple digits from Pueblo to Lamar. If we do see a couple thunderstorms in the afternoon, they look like they will try and develop across Baca County, as well as northern Teller County in the mountains, as well as the mountains west of Colorado Springs. Firework shows tonight should go off without a hitch as clear and dry skies are expected across the entire region.

COLORADO SPRINGS: High – 93; Low – 60. Sunny, hot and windy today. A stray thunderstorm is possible out in the mountains on the west side of town through the afternoon, but most of the city should stay dry. Clear and dry skies are expected tonight, meaning the fireworks show at Memorial Park should be perfect.

PUEBLO: High – 100; Low – 62. Very hot and sunny today with a cooling breeze in the afternoon. Dry skies are expected today and tonight, meaning there will be no trouble for any fireworks shows. Wear sunscreen if you go out on the lake!

CANON CITY: High – 97; Low – 64. Very hot and sunny today with a light breeze in the afternoon. Dry skies are expected today and tonight, meaning any fireworks shows you attend through the region should go off without a problem.

WOODLAND PARK: High – 81; Low – 50. Mainly warm and dry today but a few stray thunderstorms are possible in northern Teller County at the end of the afternoon. Rain chances over Woodland Park and Cripple Creek are fairly low as the moisture seems to favor the mountains north of town, and the fireworks display in Cripple Creek should be dry.

TRI-LAKES: High – 80s; Low – 50s. Sunny, warm and breezy today. A stray thunderstorm is possible out in the mountains on the west side of town through the late afternoon, but most of the Tri-Lakes area should stay dry. Clear and dry skies are expected tonight, meaning the fireworks show should be perfect.

PLAINS: High – 90/100s; Low – 60s. Very hot and sunny today with just a light breeze into the afternoon. A few stray thunderstorms are possible down in Baca County, but most of the plains should stay dry. Drink lots of water and wear sunscreen.

WALSENBURG/TRINIDAD: High – 90s; Low – 50s. Mostly just hot and dry from Walsenburg to Trinidad through the afternoon. Dry skies are expected through the evening meaning that fireworks displays in Trinidad should be just fine.

EXTENDED OUTLOOK:
A cold front overnight is going to push temperatures about 6 to 8 degrees cooler by Friday, but we'll still be plenty warm into the afternoon. Most of the region will be dry, but storms could fire up in the Pikes Peak Region Friday afternoon, especially from Colorado Springs out east into El Paso county up and along the Palmer Divide. Stronger rain and more widespread storms come back into the forecast on Saturday, with scattered storms on Sunday. Storms stick around through Monday and we'll heat up into next week.
