Today’s Forecast:
Heavy rain will fall across the deeper mountains today, but little to no moisture is expected from I-25 east this afternoon and evening. The Pikes Peak Region might get lucky and grab some late day showers and thunderstorms, but monsoon moisture will favor areas farther west. Despite the cloud cover today, it'll still be hot with most highs in the 80s and 90s.

COLORADO SPRINGS: High: 89; Low: 60. Hot with mostly cloudy skies and a chance for showers and thunderstorms at the end of the day. Storms should not be severe, an isolated heavy downpour, especially up near the Palmer Divide, is possible.

PUEBLO: High: 96; Low: 64. Very hot with building clouds and stronger winds in the afternoon. A stray late afternoon storm is possible today, just not very likely.

CANON CITY: High: 92; Low: 66. Hot and cloudy today with gusty winds at times and a chance for showers and thunderstorms in the late afternoon. Storms should be non-severe, but there could be lots of lightning and a stray downpour.

WOODLAND PARK: High: 79; Low: 52. Warm and cloudy in the afternoon with showers and thunderstorms, some of which could have heavy rain, is likely in the mid to late afternoon.

TRI-LAKES: High: 80s; Low: 50s. Warm with showers and thunderstorms likely in mid to late afternoon. Storms could end up being strong over the Tri-Lakes area, with lots of lightning and heavy rain, and even small hail all possible around the end of the day.

PLAINS: High: 90s; Low: 60s. We're likely going to stay dry across the plains today with very hot and dry conditions.

WALSENBURG/TRINIDAD: High: 80s; Low: 60s. Hot and windy at times today with scattered late day to early evening showers and thunderstorms possible, all of which should be non-severe.

Extended Outlook:
Over the weekend, our rain chances will remain best over the mountains west of I-25. We could still see some spotty showers along I-25 on Saturday, but the better chance for rain in Colorado Springs, Pueblo, and some of the cities to our east comes on Sunday through Monday and Tuesday of next week. We'll be cooling down a lot from Sunday through Tuesday, but then we'll heat up again at the end of next week.
