Today’s Forecast:
Heat remains the big story today and tomorrow, especially since we have so much of it this late into the year! Colorado is stuck in a pattern where warm, desert air is being blown into the state, with dry ground only helping to add extra heat to this already hot air. Highs today will be about 10 to 12 degrees above average through the region with light winds in the afternoon not providing much relief. Tonight the clear skies and light winds will allow lows to fall into the comfortable mid 50 degree range for Sunday morning.

COLORADO SPRINGS: High - 87; Low - 54. Sunny, very warm, and dry with light winds through the afternoon.

PUEBLO: High - 94; Low - 56. Sunny, hot, and dry with gentle winds through the afternoon.

CANON CITY: High - 92; Low - 60. Sunny, hot, and dry with gentle winds through the afternoon.

WOODLAND PARK: High - 79; Low - 47. Mostly sunny, warm, and dry with light winds through the afternoon.

TRI-LAKES: High - 80s; Low - 50s. Sunny, warm, and dry with a light breeze through the afternoon.

PLAINS: High - 90s; Low - 50s. Sunny, hot, and dry with gentle winds through the afternoon.

WALSENBURG/TRINIDAD: High - 80s; Low - 50s. Sunny, hot, and dry with gentle winds through the afternoon.

Extended Outlook:
Sunday will be hot again with temperatures roughly the same as what we'll see on Sunday. We are going to stay generally dry through the forecast area Sunday night, but a few thunderstorms are possible in the mountain from Teller County south to Fremont and Custer County. Cooler weather returns this week with a few isolated thunderstorms in the mountains on Monday.
