Today’s Forecast:
Fire danger and a hard freeze are the two main weather stories today and tonight. We're going to see strong westerly winds through the mountains and lower plains today with very low humidity. Any fires that ignite today could spread quickly. A cold front is moving through Colorado early this morning and it'll take our temperatures in the 60s and 70s today and send them into the 30s and 20s overnight.

COLORADO SPRINGS: High: 66; Low: 20. Mild and breezy in the morning and then cold and windy in the afternoon after the cold front hits. Fire danger is highest from the morning through lunch.

PUEBLO: High: 74; Low: 25. High fire danger today from warm, dry, and windy westerly winds in the morning and early afternoon. The cold front will pass through Pueblo in the early to mid-afternoon and quell fire concerns by the evening.

CANON CITY: High: 75; Low: 28. High fire danger from very low humidity and gusty westerly winds in the morning with cooler air and higher humidity by the end of the day.

WOODLAND PARK: High: 60; Low: 18. Elevated fire danger today until the cooler air hits in the mid to late morning, raising humidity and lowering fire danger.

TRI-LAKES: High: 50s; Low: 10s. Windy and cold today as a cold front races across town late this morning through the afternoon, sending temperatures into the teens overnight.

PLAINS: High: 70s; Low: 20s. Very windy today especially as a cold front spills south from the late morning through the afternoon sending temperatures down into the teens and 20s by tomorrow morning. Wind gusts east of Pueblo and Colorado Springs could be as high as 55 mph in a few areas.

WALSENBURG/TRINIDAD: High: 70s; Low: 20s. Very windy with super high fire danger today from dry and gusty conditions in the morning and early afternoon. The cold front later today will limit fire danger and push temperatures down into the 20s overnight.

Extended Outlook:
Friday is going to be cold with areas of mist and fog possible in the morning and highs likely in the 30s and 40s. We'll see high fire danger on Saturday with more gusty west winds and low humidity. Sunday night through Monday we have a chance for snow and VERY cold temperatures.
