Today’s Forecast:
Very humid and moist air will collide with the mountains to create strong to severe thunderstorms from the afternoon into the evening hours across southern Colorado. Storms will tap into something called wind shear today, increasing the likelihood of large hail from the I-25 corridor to the eastern plains. Flash Flood Watches are in effect from the southern mountains to the I-25 corridor and plains just to the east. Very heavy rain could cause flooding quickly later today, especially in areas that have already seen heavy rain. Hail sizes could range from 1 to 1.5 inches today, both of which could do damage to you and your car. Please heed any severe warnings issued later today.

COLORADO SPRINGS: High - 80; Low - 58. Cloudy and mild with a few showers possible by lunch, and stronger to severe storms from the afternoon through the evening hours. Heavy rain with flash flooding and quarter size hail are the biggest storm threats later today.

PUEBLO: High - 87; Low - 62. Warm and humid with more of a mix of clouds and sunshine through the early afternoon. Storms later today could easily be strong to severe with heavy rain, flash flooding, and quarter to ping pong ball sized hail all possible.

CANON CITY: High - 86; Low - 64. Cloudy, warm and humid with showers and thunderstorms in the afternoon. Severe weather is possible in town, but the biggest threat remains heavy rain and flash flooding. Hail threats over town are there, but with the biggest stones likely under 1 inch, which is considered non severe.

WOODLAND PARK: High - 71; Low - 51. Cloudy and cool with afternoon and evening showers and thunderstorms. Storms will likely stay non severe in Woodland Park, but heavy rain and flash flooding remain a big risk.

TRI-LAKES: High - 80s; Low - 50s. Cloudy and mild with showers and thunderstorms by lunch, and then again through the afternoon. Storms will likely be strong to severe in the Tri-Lakes area, with heavy rain and flooding as the biggest risks. Hail up to a quarter in size will be possible through the end of the day.

PLAINS: High - 90/100s; Low - 60s. Warm and humid with a mix of clouds and sun in the morning and storms from the end of the day through the overnight hours. Storms will likely be strong to severe, especially as they leave Pueblo County and move southeast through the plains. Heavy rain, flash flooding, lightning, and large hail are all possible in storms later today and tonight.

WALSENBURG/TRINIDAD: High - 90s; Low - 60s. Cloudy and mild with a few showers possible by lunch, and stronger to severe storms from the afternoon through the evening hours. Heavy rain with flash flooding and quarter size hail are the biggest storm threats later today.
