Dramatically cooler today with scattered showers overnight

Today’s Forecast:
A cold front overnight is going to leave the region feeling about 20 degrees cooler this afternoon compared to yesterday! It'll be windy today with cool air constantly flowing into the state with much less smoke in the air due to the overnight cold front. Rain and thunderstorms are possible overnight, but storms will be spotty and likely favor the mountains near Teller County, and areas out east of I-25 in the plains.

COLORADO SPRINGS: High: 74; Low: 49. Windy and cooler today with a weak chance for spotty thundershowers in the evening or overnight hours.

PUEBLO: High: 82; Low: 52. Warm again today but still much cooler than Wednesday with strong winds, especially in the first half of the day. Scattered thunderstorms are possible overnight around midnight, but most of the rain would be east of the city into the plains.

CANON CITY: High: 78; Low: 54. Warm and windy at times today but still cooler than yesterday with a small chance for spotty showers overnight.

WOODLAND PARK: High: 65; Low: 41. Mild and windy today with scattered showers and thunderstorms possible anytime from the late day through the evening hours.

TRI-LAKES: High: 60s; Low: 40s. Beautiful temperatures but windy today, especially in the first half of the day, with a small chance for spotty thundershowers in the evening.

PLAINS: High: 80s; Low: 50s. Hot but still cooler than yesterday and very windy, especially in the first half of the day. Scattered thunderstorms are likely tonight around and after midnight with lightning and a few strong wind gusts as the main storm threats.

WALSENBURG/TRINIDAD: High: 80s; Low: 50s. Windy at times and much cooler today with a chance for spotty thunderstorms around midnight before they move east and grow stronger in the plains.

Extended Outlook:
Friday is going to be even cooler than today with more gusty daytime winds and a better chance for thunderstorms. Storms tomorrow will likely be non severe in the mountains and I-25 corridor, but they could come with heavy rain. Severe weather is possible in the far eastern counties Friday and Saturday afternoons. Summer starts on Saturday with mostly dry skies across the region and Sunday also looks dry for Fathers Day.
