We'll see increasing cloud cover across the region with breezy conditions through the afternoon. There will be periods of snow and freezing rain across the San Luis Valley late this morning through the afternoon, with freezing rain and regular showers from Baca County north through Prowers and Kiowa counties. I-25 towns are going to stay dry, just chilly and breezy. Tonight we'll stay dry across most of the region, but with light snow continuing to fall across parts of the San Luis Valley.
COLORADO SPRINGS: High: 35; Low: 26. Cloudy, breezy, and cold.
PUEBLO: High: 39; Low: 23. Cloudy, light winds, and very chilly.
CANON CITY: High: 40; Low: 35. Cloudy, chilly, with calm winds.
WOODLAND PARK: High: 41; Low: 234. Cloudy, chilly, with light winds.
TRI-LAKES: High: 30s; Low: 20s. Cloudy, cold, and breezy.
PLAINS: High: 30s; Low: 20s. Cloudy and cold with a chance for freezing rain in the late morning or early afternoon over Baca County, and likely just afternoon rain showers east of Bent County through the afternoon.
WALSENBURG/TRINIDAD: High: 30s; Low: 20/30s. Cloudy, breezy and dry from Walsenburg to Trinidad today, but snow will fall south of Trinidad through Raton Pass. The mountains west of I-25 will see light snow in the late morning and afternoon, with parts of the San Luis Valley possibly seeing freezing rain in the late morning.
Extended Outlook:
Tonight we'll stay cloudy and mostly dry, other than a few areas in the San Luis Valley continuing to get light snow. Friday is going to be a very active day with heavy mountain snow over the Continental Divide and very strong winds across the lower elevations. Wind gusts across I-25 will blow between 35 to 55 mph, with isolated spots in the mountains gusting higher. West into the mountains will see heavy blowing snow from the morning through the afternoon, making travel very difficult and dangerous. The weekend looks dry and much less windy, with Saturday's temperatures staying very cold.
