Today’s Forecast:
The cold front from Monday slowly pulled moisture into southern Colorado overnight, and easterly winds are pushing that moisture up against the mountains this morning, forming heavy cloud cover. The clouds will stay fairly thick against the mountains, foothills, and adjacent plains for the first half of the day, with breaks in the clouds arriving through the afternoon. Rain chances are pretty slim today, but a cold front this afternoon could spark a few isolated showers against the mountains, especially the mountains south of Fremont County. Tonight we'll see clear skies with temperatures falling far back into the lower 50s.

COLORADO SPRINGS: High - 76; Low - 51. Mostly cloudy with periodic breaks for sunshine in the afternoon with cool and mainly dry skies other than an isolated shower over the mountains and foothills.

PUEBLO: High - 83; Low - 55. Mostly cloudy through the morning with more sunshine breaking through in the afternoon, mild and dry skies are expected.

CANON CITY: High - 83; Low - 57. Mostly cloudy through the morning with more sunshine breaking through in the afternoon, mild and dry skies are expected.

WOODLAND PARK: High - 70; Low - 46. Periods of clouds and sunshine with mostly dry skies expected and highs staying fairly cool through the afternoon.

TRI-LAKES: High - 70s; Low - 40s. Cloudy in the morning with breaks of sunshine through the afternoon, dry and cool skies are expected.

PLAINS: High - 80s; Low - 50s. Mostly cloudy through the morning with more sunshine breaking through in the afternoon, mild and dry skies are expected.

WALSENBURG/TRINIDAD: High - 80s; Low - 50s. Mostly cloudy with periodic breaks for sunshine in the afternoon with cool and mainly dry skies other than an isolated shower west over the mountains and near the Raton Mesa.

Extended Outlook:
Clear skies overnight will lead to a sunny Wednesday, with much more warmth. Highs will jump back into the mid 80s for Wednesday in Colorado Springs, with Pueblo hitting the low 90s. Thursday is going to be even hotter with temperatures in the region a few degrees below the record temperature. Friday is going to be cooler with rain chances back both for Friday and Saturday afternoon. Heat tries to return early next Sunday and Monday.
