Low level cold air and fog is back in the forecast today. We're starting off with patchy fog in the lower elevations through the morning but we'll be dry in the afternoon. That cold air will keep things at 6,000 feet or lower in the 20s for highs today, but higher elevation zones will warm to the 40s.
COLORADO SPRINGS: High: 30; Low: 14. Cloudy and cold across the city, especially on the south and east sides of town.
PUEBLO: High: 28; Low: 12. Overcast and really cold today with light winds.
CANON CITY: High: 35; Low: 20. Chilly and cold with morning fog and a dry afternoon.
WOODLAND PARK: High: 43; Low: 23. Chilly and mostly cloudy today with breezy afternoon conditions.
TRI-LAKES: High: 40s; Low: 10s. Cloudy and cold today but not as cold as areas south and east at lower elevations.
PLAINS: High: 20s; Low: 10s. Patchy morning fog with ice possible before a dry and cloudy afternoon with highs in the 20s.
WALSENBURG/TRINIDAD: High: 30/40s; Low: 10s. Shallow, cold air and cloud cover will work to keep things cold front Walsenburg to Trinidad, but Walsenburg will probably be the warmer city.
MOUNTAINS: High: 40s; Low: 20s. Windy, cold, and dry today with any leftover snow out west in the central mountains with chilly daytime temperatures.
We are still tracking a dangerous wave of cold through this weekend with highs in the single digits and teens on Sunday. Light snow is possible Saturday night through Sunday.
