Tonight’s Forecast:
A Change is coming to our weather here in Colorado, and you may have noticed it on Sunday - thunderstorms were as abundant. There were a few isolated cells to traverse the state, but the bigger story was drier air working in along with a massive area of high pressure. This high will set up for the next few days over the Desert Southwest and dictate how much moisture returns to the state and just where the daily thunderstorms will form, if any. At the same time, it’ll put us in a pressure cooker of hot air, bring 100s back to the Eastern Plains by Tuesday.
Tonight, skies will remain mostly clear early with complete clearing late. Lows will fall into the 50s and 60s. On Monday, some moisture will return to the south-central mountains and the Palmer Divide. Afternoon thunderstorms will be possible in these areas, with other areas experiencing warm afternoon temps and mostly sunny skies. Highs will be similar to Sunday with readings into the 80s and 90s.

Extended Outlook:
With the high bringing on-again/off-again rain chances, Tuesday looks to be a lull with temperatures soaring into the 90s and triple digits on the Plains. Wednesday will see a small return of moisture to the state, with greater chances on Thursday and Friday as a stronger disturbance is able to penetrate the dome of high pressure. Temperatures will remain above normal for the week with some cooling as the thunderstorms return.
