Today’s Forecast:

Happy Mother’s Day!!

Sunday brings us a changing pattern in the wind.  Aloft, you’ll notice the clouds moving from the Northeast to Southwest.  On the ground, you’ll feel the warming winds coming up out of the southwest.  As a result of the criss-cross wind pattern, our afternoon highs will be slightly warmer today to bring us to seasonal normal in the upper 60s to near 70.  Some afternoon convection may develop over the high mountain tops in the form of light rain showers, but mostly, we’ll just notice a few more clouds in the sky.

COLORADO SPRINGS: High – 68; Low – 44. Sunny with afternoon clouds.

PUEBLO: High – 74; Low – 44. Sunny with afternoon clouds.

CANON CITY: High – 72; Low – 41. Sunny with afternoon clouds.

WOODLAND PARK: High – 58; Low – 37. Sunny with a slight chance for an afternoon rain shower.

TRI-LAKES: High – 60s; Low – 30s. Sunny with afternoon clouds.

PLAINS: High – 70/80s; Low – 40s. Mostly sunny skies and seasonal.

WALSENBURG/TRINIDAD: High – 60s; Low – 40s. Sunny with afternoon clouds.

EXTENDED OUTLOOK:

After last week’s last ditch effort at winter, the atmosphere is taking something of a breather.  We’re entering a relatively quite weather pattern that will allow for a gradual warm up to seasonal high and plenty of sunshine.  By the end of the week, we’ll get back into the pattern of morning sunshine and chances for afternoon thunderstorms, but at this time, no major storm systems are in the forecast for the foreseeable future.  Enjoy the tranquil weather pattern!
