Few weekend showers, warm work week

Today’s Forecast:

Showers will continue to push east and out of Colorado this morning. Skies will be clearing through the first half of the day. Highs will be in the 50’s and low 60’s. A few clouds build in this afternoon with a small chance for stray sprinkles or flurries around the Pikes Peak Region.

COLORADO SPRINGS: High – 56; Low – 31. Clearing skies this morning followed by a few PM clouds and a small chance for an isolated sprinkle.

PUEBLO: High – 64; Low – 33.  Mainly sunny and mild today.

CANON CITY: High – 61; Low – 33.  breezy at times, but a pleasant start to the weekend.

WOODLAND PARK: High – 47; Low – 25. Mainly sunny and near average today. 

TRI-LAKES: High – 50; Low – 20’s. Clearing skies this morning. A few PM clouds.

PLAINS: High – 60; Low – 30’s. Showers end quickly this morning with a few clouds lingering.

WALSENBURG/TRINIDAD: High – 60’s; Low – 30’s. Sunny this morning with a few PM clouds.

NEXT WEEK: Mainly clear tonight with lows in the 20’s and 30’s. More clouds cover on Sunday. Slightly cooler temperatures as a cold front moves through in the afternoon. This front will bring the chance for showers to develop during the second half of the day.  A strong ridge builds in for the first half of the work week. Mainly sunny skies and warmer temperatures. Highs will be in the 50’s and 60’s on Monday, warming towards the 70’s and near 80 by Wednesday. It will likely be the warmest day we’ve had since the end of October. A little cooler and unsettled for the rest of the week. Models still differ on temperatures and showers for the end of the week. Generally, we look cooler Friday into the weekend with chances for rain/snow showers.
