We’re half done! The second part of this winter system arrives tonight

Today’s Forecast:
Snow fell overnight and anyone working today will be greeted with a slick commute as snow plows work to clear the roads. Snow ranged from 1 to 3 inches across Colorado Springs and around 1 to 2 inches across Pueblo. Other than a few leftover morning flurries, most of today will be dry and actually sunny through parts of the afternoon. The second wave of snow arrives tonight through early Tuesday morning, with another general 2 to 4 inches expected to fall across the viewing area, more to the southern mountains. Read below for a more detailed snow forecast that will cover what we expect tonight.

COLORADO SPRINGS: High – 17; Low – 7. Flurries in the morning followed by a dry and at times, sunny afternoon. Snow returns this evening with a general 1 to 3 inches expected tonight through Tuesday morning, bringing the 2 day storm total to 4 – 8 inches across town.

PUEBLO: High – 18; Low – 8. Flurries in the morning followed by a dry and at times, sunny afternoon. Snow returns this evening with a general 2 to 4 inches expected tonight through Tuesday morning, bringing the 2 day storm total to 3 to 6 inches across town.

CANON CITY: High – 19; Low – 10. Flurries in the morning followed by a dry and at times, sunny afternoon. Snow returns this evening with a general 2 to 4 inches expected tonight through Tuesday morning, bringing the 2 day storm total to 4 to 8 inches across town.

WOODLAND PARK: High – 15; Low – 2. Flurries in the morning followed by a dry and at times, sunny afternoon. Snow returns this evening with a general 1 to 2 inches expected tonight through Tuesday morning, bringing the 2 day storm total to 2 – 5 inches across town.

TRI-LAKES: High – 10s; Low – 2. Flurries in the morning followed by a dry and at times, sunny afternoon. Snow returns this evening with a general 1 to 3 inches expected tonight through Tuesday morning, bringing the 2 day storm total to 2 – 5 inches across town.

PLAINS: High – 10s; Low – 8. Flurries in the morning followed by a dry and at times, sunny afternoon. Snow returns this evening with a general 2 to 4 inches expected tonight through Tuesday morning, bringing the 2 day storm total to 2 – 5 inches across the area.

WALSENBURG/TRINIDAD: High – 10s; Low – 6. Flurries in the morning followed by a dry and at times, sunny afternoon. Snow returns this evening with a general 2 to 4 inches expected tonight through Tuesday morning, bringing the 2 day storm total to 4 – 8 inches across the area. The southern mountains will likely see another 4 to 6 inches, possibly more in a few localized areas.


EXTENDED OUTLOOK:
One last pass of light snow will fall from Tuesday night through Wednesday morning, mainly in the Pikes Peak region with accumulation likely at or under 1 inch. The other big story of the next few days will be the cold, temperatures will be in the teens or low 20s at best today and Tuesday with single digit morning temperatures well into Friday morning. Highs will start progressively warming up on Wednesday afternoon with 30s and 40s back in the forecast by Friday. We’ll stay dry all week with the next chance for snow falling on Saturday.
