Today’s Forecast:
Gorgeous weather is back on tap today across southern Colorado! Sunny skies for most of the region will propel temperatures into the low to mid 50s across the map. Cloud cover will fill in tonight, starting over the mountains and then moving to the lower elevations. Under the clouds we’ll get cold tonight, but not as bad as the last few evenings with expected temperatures in the mid 20s. Snow will start to fall later today in the mountains far to the west and it will continue to fall through Wednesday.

COLORADO SPRINGS: High – 53; Low – 27. Sunny, warm and dry today with light winds.

PUEBLO: High – 55; Low – 23. Sunny, beautiful and dry today with light winds.

CANON CITY: High – 53; Low – 30. Sunny, warm and dry today with light winds.

WOODLAND PARK: High – 47; Low – 22. Sunny with a few clouds late today and chilly high temps.

TRI-LAKES: High – 40s; Low – 20s. Sunny, cool and dry today with light winds.

PLAINS: High – 50s; Low – 20s. Sunny, beautiful and dry today with light winds.

WALSENBURG/TRINIDAD: High – 50s; Low – 20s. Sunny, beautiful and dry today with light winds.

EXTENDED OUTLOOK:
Cloud cover spills over the mountains tonight and will keep temperatures at or a couple degrees cooler for tomorrow. Heavy snow tonight and tomorrow over the mountains to our west could make long I-70 drives west slow and dangerous. Thursday is the peak day in the forecast with temps in the mid to upper 50s. A rain to a quick snow switch is still expected on Friday with the snow now looking like a decent accumulator for the mountains. Like we saw from the last system, warm temperatures the day before will likely keep areas like I-25 mainly wet, while mountain roads gets slick.
