Today’s Forecast:
Beautiful temperatures with strong winds become the main weather story today. Wind speeds, while already gusty and strong through Pueblo and some of the mountains this morning, will stay fairly strong through the middle of the day and then calm down tonight. Peak gusts will reach the 50 mph range, but most areas will see gusts more consistent in the 30 and 40 mph range.. Down slope winds will push highs in the 50s for most of the lower elevations, but a few places, like Pueblo, should hit 60 today!

COLORADO SPRINGS: High – 56; Low – 24. Mix of sun and some cloud cover with strong winds gusting to and over 40 mph, especially west along the mountains.

PUEBLO: High – 60; Low – 22. Mix of sun and some cloud cover with strong winds gusting to and over 40 mph through the mid afternoon.

CANON CITY: High – 54; Low – 26. Mix of sun and some cloud cover with strong winds gusting to and over 30 mph through the early afternoon.

WOODLAND PARK: High – 42; Low – 22. Partly sunny skies with strong winds through town well into the afternoon. We’ll see gusts up to 40 mph through the midday.

TRI-LAKES: High – 40s; Low – 20s. Mix of sun and some cloud cover with strong winds gusting to and over 40 mph through the mid afternoon.

PLAINS: High – 60s; Low – 20s. Sunnier skies with gorgeous temperatures and winds gusting into the 20 and 30 mph range.

WALSENBURG/TRINIDAD: High – 50s; Low – 20s. Mix of sun and some cloud cover with strong winds gusting to and over 40 or more mph through the mid afternoon.

EXTENDED OUTLOOK:
Cooler air follows a wave that brings the mountains snow today and drops our highs back into the 40s by tomorrow. The “cool” weather will only last for a day because by Wednesday we’re back in the 50s and by Thursday, highs should be in the 60s for a few areas in the plains! We are seeing no rain or snow in the forecast for quite awhile, so be fire conscious going forward!
