The weather will be unbelievable today when you compare it to what is coming tomorrow! High pressure ahead of a very strong cold front is going to put sunshine out over southern Colorado with gorgeous high temperatures. Highs today will soar into the 40s and very low 50s with more 40s out through the mountains. The winds will stay light today but they will start to pick up late tonight as the cold front moves in. Tonight we’ll stay dry but the cloud cover will thicken up and the winds will start to get very gusty into Monday morning.

Tomorrow morning, a strong cold front will push through the state, saturating the air and dropping snow early in the morning. Snow will be falling off and on from Monday through Tuesday morning, although the snow will be more of a light flurry by Tuesday morning. The winds will be strong, gusting between 20 to 40 mph on Monday meaning that travel will be difficult and not advised, especially through the mountains where the heaviest snow is expected. Monument Hill from Monday through Tuesday morning will be slick and dangerous to drive on, but highway 24 and 50 west into the mountains, as well as our southern routes like highway 160, will also be dangerous.
