Forecast: The warming trend that came with the bright first half of the week, now reverses. The overall pattern across the country is for a deepening and widening trough in the jet stream, a bowl, if you will. This means cold air via Canada gets to invade almost all parts of the country, and for awhile. It also means that, because the jet pattern is already in the pattern of general storminess, little waves within the overall are able to further develop into full-fledged cyclones. Such as one nearby Friday, and another on Sunday.

So, expect temperatures to go down over the next 48 hours, and some wet snow Friday, and more on Sunday.

COLORADO SPRINGS: Low – 32, High – 55. Partly cloudy tonight. Mostly cloudy Thursday.

PUEBLO:Low – 31, High – 62. Partly cloudy tonight. Partly sunny Thursday.

WOODLAND PARK:Low – 25, High – 45. Partly cloudy tonight. Mostly cloudy Thursday.

TRI-LAKES:Low – 32, High – 55. Partly cloudy tonight. Mostly cloudy Thursday.

PLAINS:Low – 30, High – 65. Partly cloudy tonight. Partly sunny Thursday.

WALSENBURG/TRINIDAD:Low – 34, High – 62. Partly cloudy tonight. Partly sunny Thursday.

EXTENDED OUTLOOK: Wet snow showers or flurries Friday, dry Saturday, but more light to maybe even moderate (and accumulating) snow on Sunday…with temps by then, only in the mid 30s!
