WALSENBURG/TRINIDAD: Low – 30, High – 60’s. Clouds tonight and tomorrow with warmer temperatures.

REST OF THE WEEK: Despite additional cloud cover, temperatures should be able to warm even more for Wednesday with highs in the 60’s for most areas. That will be the warmest day of the week. Cooler air moves in starting Thursday and we continue dropping towards the weekend. Highs are likely to be only in the 30’s by the start of the new week. In terms of precipitation, the mountains will see a good chance at snow over the next several days and it will likely add up to decent accumulations for the ski resorts. For our area, we stay mainly dry for the next few days. Friday will be the first chance at rain/snow and that chance looks minor, mainly focused on the Palmer Divide and higher elevations. We’ll also be watching the late Saturday into Monday time frame for the next system. This one could pack a bigger punch, depending on the model you look at. One model has been pretty consistent with decent snow potential and the other has been consistently drier. It should be interesting to see the new runs of these models as they come in over the next several days. For now, we’ll go with more active conditions and colder temperatures for the start of the new week.
