Forecast: The “Polar Vortex” pattern? It’s here early this Fall/Winter. That means, unseasonably cold weather. But since it didn’t happen in, say, January, it’s not as intensely cold as it would be, then. It does mean that, the cold weather this week, continues. A warming trend begins Friday, lasts through Saturday, before another piece of it catches our area Sunday & Monday. After that, it retreats, and we warm up dramatically and for awhile.

As for precipitation, just flurries tonight, and maybe a period of snow Sunday with that next shot of re-enforcing cold air.

COLORADO SPRINGS: Low – 24, High – 38. Mostly cloudy with flurries tonight. Partly sunny Thursday, but cold.

PUEBLO: Low – 25, High – 44. Mostly cloudy with flurries tonight. Partly to mostly sunny Thursday, but cold.

WOODLAND PARK: Low – 18, High – 28. Mostly cloudy with flurries tonight. Partly sunny Thursday, cold.

TRI-LAKES: Low – 20, High – 33. Mostly cloudy with flurries tonight. Partly sunny Thursday, but cold.

WALSENBURG/TRINIDAD:Low – 26, High – 40. Mostly cloudy with a few flurries tonight. Partly to mostly sunny Thursday, cold.

EXTENDED OUTLOOK: Warmer Saturday, colder Sunday. Good chance for a period of light snow or just flurries, Saturday night and Sunday morning. Otherwise, no big storms in sight.
