Today’s Forecast:

Today will be beautiful with sunshine and highs in the 60’s and low 70’s, back near average for this time of year. It will be a great day to get outside ahead of big changes tomorrow. A freeze is heading our way so today could be a good opportunity to take care of sprinklers, swamp coolers, vegetation, etc. Late this evening and overnight a cold front will move in with strong winds, much colder air, and snow chances for some.

COLORADO SPRINGS: High – 65; Low – 25. A seasonal Saturday. Stronger winds, colder temperatures, and increasing snow chances tonight into Monday.

PUEBLO: High – 67; Low – 33. Very nice today. Tonight winds increase, temperatures drop, and snow chances will increase heading into tomorrow.

CANON CITY: High – 69; Low – 29. A sunny and mild Saturday. Increasing winds, clouds, and cold tonight with snow chances tomorrow.

WOODLAND PARK: High – 57; Low – 17. Very nice today. Windy and cold tonight with snow arriving late and continuing into Monday.

TRI-LAKES: High – 60; Low – 20’s. Fantastic Saturday! Winds increase, temperatures drop, and snow arrives tonight.

PLAINS: High – 70’s; Low – 30’s. Great today with warm temps and sun. Increasing winds tonight with rain changing to snow.

WALSENBURG/TRINIDAD: High – 70; Low – 30’s. A lovely Saturday with sunshine and warmth. Increasing winds tonight with colder air and snow chances arriving late tonight.

NEXT WEEK: North winds take over behind the initial cold front tonight with some gusts over 30 mph. Precipitation tries to start overnight with the main focus being along the Palmer Divide north and areas south of Hwy 50 as well as eastern mountains slopes. Accumulations will vary a lot! Northerly winds could keep snow on the minimal side around Colorado Springs and Pueblo, but up to 2-3″ will be possible. Totals increase heading into the higher elevations of the mountains, southern I-25 corridor, and Palmer Divide. Combined with strong winds at times, plan on needing some extra time as the snow falls. It’ll be a bitterly cold start on Monday with lows in the teens for most and a hard freeze everywhere. Skies clear quickly with mainly sunny conditions for the rest of the week. Temperatures will gradually warm throughout the week, getting back into the 50’s and 60’s for the second half of the week.
