Weather Alert Day: Morning clouds then high fire danger

Today’s Forecast:

Areas of low clouds, fog, and drizzle to start the morning. Skies will try to improve throughout the day with more sunshine by this afternoon. Highs will be warmer and above average with highs in the 80’s. Dry conditions today with red flag warnings in place for some areas through this evening. Mainly clear tonight with lows in the 50’s for most.

COLORADO SPRINGS: High – 84; Low – 52. Areas of clouds, fog, drizzle this morning then improving skies and Red Flag conditions.

PUEBLO: High – 89; Low – 51. Areas of low clouds this morning. Warmer this afternoon.

CANON CITY: High – 87; Low – 54. Improving skies and warmer temperatures.

WOODLAND PARK: High – 76; Low – 48. A warmer day with improving skies.

TRI-LAKES: High – 80; Low – 50’s. Clouds, fog, drizzle early then improving skies and warmer temperatures.

PLAINS: High – 80’s; Low – 50’s. Improving skies and warmer temperatures.

WALSENBURG/TRINIDAD: High – 80’s; Low – 50’s. Improving skies and temperatures throughout the day.

NEXT WEEK: Sunshine will be more abundant on Sunday with highs mainly in the 80’s. Mainly sunny again on Monday with temperatures running just a few degrees cooler, but still above average. Dry and breezy at times through the first part of the week with fire danger running high. The chance for a little more moisture returns Tuesday onward. Most of the moisture will be focused on the mountains, but we’ll have the chance for isolated activity to make it to the lower elevations each day. At this point the best chance looks to come on Friday.
