Today’s Forecast:
A cold front backed through Colorado this morning and you’ll feel the effects through the afternoon. The winds will be strong today, especially out across the plains, where we’ll see gusts into the 20s through the mid afternoon. Temperatures will struggle to leave the 50s in the plains as the coldest air moves under heavy cloud cover. The mountains and San Luis Valley will see the warmest temperatures today as the Front Range blocks out the coolest air. It’s a good idea to cover the plants tonight as several lows will fall into the 30s.

COLORADO SPRINGS: High – 59; Low – 39. Mostly sunny for the majority of the day but some cloud cover will push in late today and tonight. The winds will be strongest through the morning and early afternoon. Tonight temperatures slip towards 40 degrees.

PUEBLO: High – 61; Low – 36. Mostly sunny with some cloud cover backing into the area by this evening. The winds will be strongest through the morning and mid afternoon. Tonight temperatures will slip into the 30s.

CANON CITY: High – 64; Low – 42. Mostly sunny and fairly nice in Canon City with a light wind and plenty of sunshine. Tonight temperatures will slip into the lower 40s.

WOODLAND PARK: High – 63; Low – 40. Sunny and crisp temperatures today with a light breeze. Tonight lows will slip down toward 39 degrees.

TRI-LAKES: High – 50s; Low – 30s. Mostly sunny, breezy and crisp today. The winds will gust into the teens through the early afternoon with cloud cover a bit thicker this evening. Lows will fall into the mid 30s.

PLAINS: High – 50s; Low – 30s. Cloudy and windy today with gusts up to and over 20 mph through the afternoon. Temperatures under the clouds will struggle to rise over the 50s and we should see some light, spotty showers through the early afternoon, especially towards the Kansas border. Lows into the 30s tonight.

WALSENBURG/TRINIDAD: High – 60s; Low – 30s. Sunny, breezy and relatively crisp through the afternoon. Tonight lows will fall towards the 30s.

WEEKEND OUTLOOK:
A big warm up hits us Saturday with good sunshine through the afternoon and highs back into the 80s for much of southern Colorado. We stay warm and dry through the weekend with temperatures falling into the 70s and 80s by next week with only a few rain chances on Tuesday and Thursday.
