Record or near record heat today, with widespread 90s by afternoon. At least, because the air is so dry and the winds go light, the temperatures do cool off nicely at night. But it is A/C all the time, through Monday. This is a great time to wash the car and to take the top down…for you will benefit from both for awhile. In fact, with a huge ridge locked in place over the western Plains and inter-mountain region, there is little chance for any rain for another 10 days.
Colorado Springs: High: 90, Low: 55. Sunny, record heat (record is 89F). Clear and pleasant at night.
Pueblo: High: 97, Low: 56. Sunny, scorching record heat (record is 97F). Clear and pleasant at night.
Canon City: High: 94, Low: 56. Sunny, hot stuff. Clear and pleasant at night.
Woodland Park: High: 81, Low: 49. Sunny, very warm. Clear and pleasant at night.
Tri Lakes: High: 87, Low: 52. Sunny, hot. Clear and pleasant at night.
The Plains: High: 99, Low: 58. Sunny, record heat (record is 89F). Clear and pleasant at night.
Trinidad/Walsenburg: High: 93, Low: 57. Sunny, hot. Clear and pleasant at night.
Extended Outlook…with no change in the pattern through Monday, no significant changes in the forecast are expected. A slight decrease in the prominent ridge at the surface and aloft is the reason for any expectation of a slight cool-down midweek next week, but realistically, I don’t see any rain from Mother Nature for another 10 days.
